  What's Wrong with the Watchtower?

  not sure who wrote this list a while back but i think it is worth a repeat....to be added to or subtracted from or modified...whatever.. what's wrong with the watchtower.

  "overlapping generations" - this teaching makes no sense.

  the word used by jesus is in the singular, not plural form.. .

  Can disfellowshipped individuals attend the Video Meetings

  just a quesiton: can disfellowshipped individuals attend the video meetings.

  if they can, do they have to turn off their video and sound?

  can they attend with their family?

  Overrated

  Why would a DF or DA person want to sit in on one of those zoom meetings?

  To sit there grinning like a Cheshire cat and listen intently as the PIMOs took hold of their freedom and gave the elders hell in no uncertain manner. Then how will they disfellowship anybody with a large part of the congregation blowing spiritual raspberries at them?

  Guns...Are You For or Against Legally Owning Them?

  there is a surge going on of people buying guns, especially first time buyers.

  with talk of police defunding and rioting in the neighborhoods, some people want to protect themselves.. do you support owning and using a gun if needed?.

  I think trust and a good information network is the safest community defence. Some people are SO dangerous a gun isn't really going to give you much protection. Especially if you are a bad shot.

  They thought I might be afraid of being shunned. Instead at least 17 elders hid from me in the lounge of an old aged pensioner.

  The shunning keeps on failing - gradually more and more talk to me. It's so sweet when it happens. You know they are being brave as best they can. So many of them don't agree with this ridiculous state of affairs. But they are too afraid to speak openly.

  JW (and other religions) excuses for messing up when trying to understand prophesies.

  this is not a jw-bashing thing, but it always seemed odd to me that the "excuse" when things go wrong is that "we have to wait and see how the prophesy is fulfilled" or some other wording.. my question has always been, then what is the purpose of the prophesy if you don't understand it until after the fact?

  isn't that like having a weather forecast but being told that we don't really know what the weather will be until the next day?

  isn't that the purpose of prophesy?.

  But Jesus did a cracking prophecy here. 100% correct. And - eventually a lot of people understood it!

  But some may still be on catch up with it. Possibly cause they haven't read it properly or cause the haven't read it. Or other.

  - no need to invoke shepherding or judicial action from elders.

  make a written, dated statement of your free-will choice to have abandoned the jw religion - secure this document with a friend -a trusted friend (not the jw kind).

  They misuse the identity 'Jehovah's Witness'. So might it be better to say you are no longer a member of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?

  The term 'Jehovah's Witness' was lifted from the book of Isaiah and does not refer to them, but the house of Jacob. It is used by the Society as a way to call themselves Christians.

  Sunday WT Study- King of North and South

  paragraph 8 dealing with who is the anglo-american power -- they note different images- feet of clay, 7 headed beast which has a 8th head arise, and so on.

  the last image is of the "false prophet- indicating this is another aspect of the anglo american image quoting revelation 19:20 and saying the wild beast and the false prophet are one in the same -(i see the as separate entities) -- a/a dual world power.

  which will be destroyed... .

  Beth and Sigried - you don't have to get people to believe your rubbish. All you have to do is take the platform/loud speaker and make sure the oppositions keeps quiet.

  While we are on the subject of employment - does anyone know whether or not this is true? It is something I saw on TV years ago but when I later asked someone they said, "no that's not true. That's rubbish."

  So - it's this - when you push drugs, ordinary people who work wont take them because they want to keep their heads free to make sensible decisions.

  But if you provide the population with low cost housing and keep them entertained, then you have a market for your drugs. Therefore there is a drive amongst some, to invest in low cost housing and certain forms of entertainment, which on the surface appear motivated by social concern, but the end result is a growth in drug taking. And that growth in drug taking was the desired outcome from the beginning.

  The Bible says Babylon the Great is both a city and the Mother of Harlots who affects people by using her spiritistic practices on them. That word spiritistic in Greek is φαρμακείᾳ (pharmakeia) which is like pharmacy, to do with drugs (harmful ones). Because of this description in the Bible, Babylon the Great can be interpreted as meaning all false religion, ie spiritism.

  Well doesn't the Watchtower's methods lead some to end up in low cost housing? The congregation members aren't entertained, so much as kept busy and bored. But there is a big social network.

  I don't know whether the TV progam I watched was telling the truth and it was on years ago. But it was plausable.
